16 new collages made for the British Library's sound archive resource: Voices of the Holocaust, which looks at the events of the Holocaust through interviews with survivors and people who fled Nazi persecution before, during and after the Second World War. I wanted to make a break with the ubiquitous photographic images of hollow eyed camp victims that had been used with this material before, and instead take inspiration from the real voices of the real people i could hear. Survivors, immigrants, workers, parents and so on, who built interesting lives and contributed to the UK in so many lively ways.
