This Arvon week with Fiona Benson and Sophie Herxheimer begins with the premise that a poem doesn’t want to be pinned, it wants to fly! Using playful and artistic techniques, from collage to colour to collaboration, we will conjure and liberate our voices, finding new ones to speak with, or encouraging other selves out of the muttering shadows and into the light. We will be inspired by and borrow from other genres, like prophecy, instruction, visual art and theatre, and of course, lots of poems, by wonderful experimenters past and present. Come and create a raft of poems-in-draft to surprise ears, eyes and antennae.
